Wastewater Treatment
Wastewater Treatment operates the Mooroopna plant: inlet works, activated sludge reactors with nutrient removal, clarifiers, lagoons, sludge digestion and biosolids handling, and the recycled water scheme. The team keeps the discharge inside licence limits and manages odour, biosolids and reuse records.
What the team is accountable for
- Operate and control inlet works, reactors, clarifiers and lagoons
- Monitor dissolved oxygen, sludge age and nutrient removal performance
- Manage digestion, dewatering and biosolids stockpiles
- Supply recycled water to the reuse scheme within licence conditions
- Sample and report effluent quality to the environmental regulator

Greg Tan
Greg has run the Mooroopna plant and the recycled water scheme for eleven years and manages the environmental licence reporting and biosolids program.
Where the work is recorded
Water Quality Sampling Register
Records operational and verification samples, laboratory results and the result status for drinking water, recycled water, effluent and raw water.
WHS and Environmental Incident Register
Records injuries, near misses, hazards, chemical releases, sewage spills, water quality incidents and vehicle events with investigation and actions.
Permit to Work Register
Records every confined space entry, excavation, hot work and isolation permit with the permit holder, controls, gas readings and close-out.
